Why is this called a “war for our home”?

Hi Guys,
I look at the news coverage abroad – and I am worried about how it affects you. So, I thought that I would share a banner that one of the leading news sites in Israel uses:
War for our home (that’s a roughly idiomatic translation of מלחמה על הבית).

In other words, we are in an existential struggle.

You hear about Israel trying to push 1.1 million Palestinians to the Southern portion of the Gaza Strip. You don’t hear about the 250,000 Israelis who are under evacuation from the South and North of Israel.

You hear about Israel bombing Gaza. How much do you hear about the constant barrage of rockets from Gaza into Israel? Their rockets are less deadly, but imagine what they would do if they could.

You hear about Israel massing ground troops to go into Gaza. How much do you hear about Hezbollah in Lebanon already using anti-tank weapons on Israeli border towns in Northern Israel?

You hear talking heads about long-term conflicts like Northern Ireland and what we can learn. What you don’t hear is that the IRA didn’t have a plan to kill every man, woman, and child in Great Britan.

So, it’s a war for our home.
